Training Administrator (shipping)

The Role:

  • Monitor and review the training requirements of staff onboard ships
  • Update and maintain databases
  • Utilise database information to pre-plan courses and ongoing training requirements
  • Liaise with staff and trainers regarding training required
  • Arrange training courses to be undertaken
  • Deal with staff and training providers via telephone and email
  • Process trainee/crewing personnel documentation and relevant associated administration
  • Assist with travel
  • Assist with administration tasks in line with company procedures and policies (e.g. generation of crew list
  • reports, visa applications, certificate control and flag state license applications)
  • Assist with general office duties including filing, scanning, incoming post and outgoing mail, invoice and telephone cover

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • IT skills and experience of using Microsoft Applications (outlook, word, excel, etc)
  • Experience in updating and maintaining databases accurately
  • Flexible approach
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to plan and organise own workload
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Experience of working with marine personnel
  • Experience of staff management
