Datacentre Sales Executive


Our client, a long-established commercial datacentre, provides a wide range of services including shared hosting, cloud computing, virtual private servers, dedicated servers, crypto miners, part and full racks, and multi-rack corporate cages, and the networking connectivity to support these. 


We are seeking a bright, highly motivated, self-starter, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to join their sales team. The primary responsibilities include responding to sales enquiries and developing new leads through targeted outbound calling. You will be able to respond under pressure while working to targets and deadlines, and be able to effectively communicate over the phone, via email and face-to-face.


The role involves: 

·         Communication with new and existing clients via phone, email and face to face

·         Advising on solutions for hosting, servers, cloud and datacentre services

·         Being the first point of contact for existing client portfolio to advise of additional solutions 

·         Compiling and preparing quotations and tenders 

·         Liaising with the Infrastructure Department for bespoke solutions 

·         Updating and maintaining a customer database


Technically, we are looking for candidates who have some basic familiarity with Cloud and Datacentre technologies and the broad set of common commercial Datacentre services such as shared hosting, cloud computing, virtual private servers, dedicated servers, crypto miners, part and full racks, and multi-rack corporate cages, and the networking connectivity.  The existing Data Centre technical staff will support you with deep product and service knowledge as necessary, but you should already know the difference between a VPN and a VPS, or a WAN and a SAN etc.


Personally, whilst this is a sales role, the business provides a technology-based service, so you will need be supportive and inspire the customer's confidence when capturing their requirements and issues, and be committed to ensuring that customers achieve maximum uptime. In line with best practice you will need to conscientiously document sales leads, customer requirements, customer support calls etc. as appropriate for a quality-conscious company which is operating to ISO 9001, 14001 & 27001 standards. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to develop and build relationships, and to work both independently with little supervision as well as in a team environment.


Ideal candidates will be / have: 

·         Self-starters, organised and highly motivated, hybrid hunter and farmer sales professionals

·         Good team-players, able to work well internally with out technical staff and with clients

·         Strong Goal Orientation and determination to achieve deadlines and targets

·         Minimum of 2-3 years sales experience, preferably in a technology environment 

·         5 GCSEs at grade A-C (Including Maths/English) 

·         Excellent written and verbal communication 

·         High attention to detail, especially when capturing customer requirements and producing quotations
